Bisset Adams Architects Design Studio
The floor plate was carefully rationalised to deliver a diverse range of work settings, from quiet zones for focused concentration to collaborative and social areas, alongside touchdown spaces, media-enabled meeting rooms, and a dedicated model-making space. A generous display area was positioned at the entrance, offering manufacturers the opportunity to showcase and leave products for real world testing by the studio team.
Storage was strategically located at the perimeter of the floor, encouraging staff to move through the space and keep their immediate workspaces clear at the close of each day. The overall palette was deliberately warm, golden, and vibrant, a considered response to the inherent challenges of a basement environment, bringing energy and light to a space that could easily feel subdued. The lighting strategy was zoned both by function and colour temperature: cooler 4000K light anchors the focus areas, while the collaborative and social zones shift to a warmer 2700–3000K to encourage relaxation and connection.
